What makes ZZAI different?
ZZAI makes sparkling beverages rooted in West African flavor tradition. The lineup includes Chapman, Zobo, TamTam, Obi, and mixed packs for discovery. You can learn more about the story on our Our Story page.
Is it soda, sparkling water, or juice?
It's a sparkling beverage - closer to a premium craft soda than sparkling water. Made with real cane sugar, naturally flavored, 50-72 calories per can. No alcohol.
Where is it made?
Made in the USA. Manufactured for Faaji LLC, Passaic, NJ.
Can I build my own bundle?
Yes. Use the bundle builder to pick your own mix of Chapman, Zobo, TamTam, and Obi.

Flavors and ingredients
What does ZZAI actually taste like?
Each flavor is distinct. Chapman is bright citrus with a cooling cucumber finish and a hint of warm spice. Zobo is tart hibiscus with ginger heat and a depth of clove. TamTam is sweet mango balanced by tart tamarind with a clean lemon finish. Obi is bold kola bitters with blood orange cutting through. All four are sparkling, lightly sweet, and nothing like anything else on the shelf.
Is it really caffeine-free?
Chapman, Zobo, and TamTam are caffeine-free. Obi contains naturally occurring caffeine from kola extract.
Is it vegan and gluten free?
Yes to both. All four SKUs are vegan, gluten free, and Non-GMO.
Which flavor should I try first?
If you want a bright citrus soda, start with Chapman. If you like hibiscus and ginger, try Zobo. If you want mango and tamarind, try TamTam. If you like kola, bitters, and deeper spice, try Obi. If you are not sure, the Variety Tray is the safest first order.
Shipping and order help
When will my order ship?
For regular store orders, check your ZZAI account hub or order confirmation email for the latest status and tracking once it is available. ZZAI currently ships to the contiguous 48 US states. First shipments and Kickstarter pledge packs are expected to leave our warehouse when production inventory lands, currently late June to mid-July.
How does shipping work?
Standard shipping is included on orders over shipping calculated at checkout. Other shipping costs are shown at checkout.
What if my order arrives damaged?
Email hello@drinkzzai.com within 7 days of delivery with your order number and clear photos of the damaged packaging and affected cans. We review every claim individually and work with you to make it right. Claims submitted without photo documentation or after the 7-day window cannot be processed.
How do I track my order?
Use the Track Order page, your order confirmation email, or the Recent Orders area in your ZZAI account hub once tracking is available.
Where do you ship?
ZZAI currently ships to the contiguous 48 US states. Alaska, Hawaii, and international expansion are planned for a future phase.
Returns and refunds
What is your return and refund policy?
All ZZAI beverage sales are final. Due to food safety regulations we cannot accept returns on consumable products. If your order arrives damaged, is missing items, or is incorrect, email hello@drinkzzai.com within 7 days of delivery with photos of the damage and your order number. We review every claim individually and work with you to make it right. Claims submitted without photo documentation or after the 7-day window cannot be processed. This policy applies to all orders placed through drinkzzai.com. Wholesale orders are governed by your wholesale agreement.
Subscriptions
How does Subscribe & Save work?
Subscribe & Save lets you choose your delivery frequency and manage your plan from the ZZAI account hub. You can swap flavors, skip a shipment, pause or resume, change frequency, update shipping, or cancel an active plan.
Can I skip or reschedule a shipment?
Yes. Open your account hub, choose the subscription, and use Reschedule to skip the next shipment or choose a new date up to 90 days out.
Can I change flavors in my subscription?
Yes. Use Edit tray in your account hub to swap a flavor, add another flavor, or adjust quantities when inventory is available.
Can I gift a subscription?
Yes. Gift subscriptions let the recipient redeem a gift link, choose their item, and receive prepaid deliveries without entering payment information. Start on the gift subscription page.
Can I cancel my subscription?
Yes. Cancel any time from your account hub before your next order processes. No fees, no penalties, no questions asked. Once an order has processed and entered fulfillment we cannot cancel that specific delivery. Cancelling your subscription does not entitle you to a refund on previously processed orders.
Kickstarter
I am a Kickstarter backer. How do I claim my pledge?
Kickstarter backers will receive a survey email on June 2, 2026 to start confirming pledge details. You can also sign in or create a ZZAI account with the email you want us to use, then visit the pledge portal. The pledge page will show your available pack selection, shirt size choices if your tier includes shirts, and any included Kickstarter swag. If Kickstarter used Apple Hide My Email or a different email, enter your Kickstarter backer number on the pledge page so we can connect the pledge to your ZZAI account.
Can I change my Kickstarter shipping address?
If the pledge portal shows address controls, update it there. If your reward is already being prepared for fulfillment, email us with your Kickstarter backer number and the correct address.
My pledge discount did not apply. What should I do?
Please make sure you are logged in with the same email used for your Kickstarter pledge, then restart from the pledge portal. If checkout still does not look right, send us your Kickstarter backer number, the email on your pledge, and a screenshot of the checkout issue. Do not paste discount codes into chat.
When will Kickstarter rewards ship?
Reward timing depends on production and fulfillment milestones. We will share updates by email and on Kickstarter. The pledge portal will show the best available account-specific status as fulfillment gets closer.
Where can I find my Kickstarter backer number?
Your backer number is in your Kickstarter pledge confirmation email. The subject line is usually "You just backed [project name]".
You can also find it from your Kickstarter Backed projects page. Open the ZZAI project, click the round + button on the right side of the project, then look at the bottom of the Backing details tab.
After the campaign ends successfully, you can also click View pledge in the blue banner at the top of the project page.
If you used Apple Hide My Email, Kickstarter may have given us a private relay address instead of your regular email. If the pledge portal does not recognize your ZZAI account, sign in or create a ZZAI account with the email you want us to use, then enter your Kickstarter backer number on the pledge page.
Payments
How do I update my payment method?
Open your account hub and choose Payment method. Shopify manages saved cards securely, so you may be asked to open account settings or confirm a secure email link.
Why does my saved card need to be connected to a subscription?
Shopify can save cards to your customer account and also attach cards to subscription contracts. If a subscription does not have a card attached, connect or refresh the card from your account hub before using Ship now.
Do you sell gift cards?
Yes. ZZAI digital gift cards are delivered by email and can be used at checkout on this store. Check the gift-card page and issued gift card email for the current validity details.
Wholesale
Do you offer wholesale?
Yes. We would love to hear from independent shops, cafes, restaurants, offices, and event teams. Start on our wholesale page.
Can I carry ZZAI at an event or venue?
Yes. Send the event date, location, expected attendance, and the format you need. We will follow up with options.
